Pre-Mortem Retrospective Template

Pre-Mortem — imagine the failure before you start. Free to run online — live board, anonymous-friendly cards, dot-voting, timers, and action items that follow your team sprint to sprint.

Run it before the work: assume the project failed spectacularly, then ask what killed it, how we'd prevent it, and what the early warning signs would be. Prospective hindsight finds risks that planning meetings politely avoid.

How to run it

1. Open a board and share the invite link — teammates join free with Google or a one-time email code.
2. Add cards to each column (5–10 minutes, timer built in), then dot-vote what matters most.
3. Discuss the top votes and commit action items with owners.
4. Next retro, the actions come back automatically — done, carry, or drop. That loop is the point.
